2nd Mile Missions

During the weekend of the Dominican Republic Alumni Chapter’s (DRAC) Chartering Ceremony, January 2023, members of the DRAC Chapter along with staff from the Aids Healthcare Foundation (AHF) visited the students and the parents of 2nd Mile Missions.

2nd Mile Missions is located in Punta Cana. AHF is a global nonprofit organization providing cutting-edge medicine and advocacy to millions of people in 45 countries. They are currently the largest provider of HIV/AIDS medical care in the U.S. 2nd Mile Missions is a Christian ministry dedicated to educating, equipping and empowering children and families in the Dominican Republic. 2 nd Mile Missions provides a Christian education to children and helps their parents become employed empowering an entire family. Children can grow into healthy adults, and learn the skills they need to feed and care for their own children. These children will then be able to sustain their communities as adults, breaking the cycle of poverty.

On January 13, 2023, the Dominican Republic Alumni Chapter Guide Right Program did a Room to Read Program at the 2nd Mile Missions School. The Brothers of the Dominican Republic Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc read books to the children at the school and donated books to the school. DRAC along with AHF made a donation of $5,000 to 2 nd Mile Missions $5,000. The money is to go towards scholarships for the students. The Dominican Republic Alumni Chapter Guide Right Program partnered with AHF to conduct a mothers about aids prevention and the importance of healthy living.
